Head of Social Work | Veteran Health | $115,000 + Bonuses
The Clinical Head of Social Work is a key leadership role responsible for providing clinical guidance, oversight, and professional development to both Remote Social Work Case Managers and In-Clinic Social Workers. This role ensures that social work staff have the necessary knowledge and expertise in general social work to deliver high-quality, evidence-based support for veterans while supporting the innovative approach of Veteran Connect service delivery. The Clinical Head of Social Work will develop and implement and align social workers with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), provide ongoing training, supervision and ensure compliance with AASW regulatory requirements while aligning with the vision and direction of Veteran Connect.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership & Excellence
- Ensure social work services align with best practices in Veteran Connect programs and DVA funded veteran care.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality across all social work services.
- Lead initiatives to enhance the clinical knowledge and expertise of social workers through training, supervision, and professional development.
Strategic & Operational Development
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the COO and GM of Veteran Connect, to align social work practices with business objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in onboarding processes and social work inductions alongside Team Leaders.
Supervision & Support
- Conduct weekly individual meetings with internal stakeholders and team leaders to provide updates and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Offer one-on-one and group clinical supervision for social workers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Address clinical issues and provide problem-solving guidance to social workers in complex cases.
Service Delivery, Development & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with internal teams to implement best practices and innovative approaches to social work service delivery.
- Provide clinical input on new social work initiatives and service expansions.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work.
- AASW registration (mandatory).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in general or health social work, with a strong background in clinical supervision and leadership.
- General knowledge & understanding of veteran-specific health and social care needs, and evidence-based social work practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, an innovative approach to problem-solving, with experience in developing clinical procedures and training programs.
