About the role

The Exercise Physiologist will be a key member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing tailored exercise programs that support veterans’ health and wellbeing. This role involves assessing the physical needs of veterans, creating individualised exercise programs, and delivering ongoing support to improve mobility, strength, and overall quality of life. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure that veterans receive a holistic and coordinated approach to their care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based exercise interventions for veterans and individuals with a variety of health conditions.
  • Assess and develop tailored exercise programs based on individual needs, focusing on functional improvements and long-term health outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best patient-centred outcomes.
  • Conduct physical assessments, track progress, and adjust exercise plans accordingly.
  • Communicate with clients, their families, and healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care and achieve optimal health results.
  • Rapidly acquire knowledge and skills to work effectively with the veteran community, through both in-person and telehealth models.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree qualification in Exercise Physiology.
  • Current registration with ESSA (Exercise & Sports Science Australia).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with clients to build rapport, educate, advocate, and support their health goals.
  • Passion for ongoing learning and progression
  • Ability to commute/current Australian Driver’s License
